Tom & Graham

As a car guy, I was excited to review a Lexus ad. If you’re going to advertise a luxury sports car, you need to show more than just driving on the back roads – have more of the quick, snappy turns in the dark, luminous warehouse, like this ad did. If the ad is titled “Make Some Noise,” shouldn’t the car be fast and loud? I would have liked to hear more about how this luxury utility rumbles.

The Lexus ad was well done – the luxurious setting is befitting to a luxury car like Lexus – plus the product’s exciting new features were highlighted. This ad was a hit in my opinion because it helps sell their high-end car to their primary market – wealthy consumers and car buffs. The Lexus commercial ad appeals to Lexus consumers and helps build Lexus’ already strong consumer franchise.

Meet the Authors

The 18 year old

A rising student of film, Graham measures all advertising against his favorite movie scenes. So a commercial with a good car chase plays well. Better with an explosion. And funny. It should be funny. So a speeding car that explodes in an amusing way will sell product.
