Tom & Graham

I didn’t have a high school bully, but the TV employees in this ad are exactly how I would think of them. My understanding of bullies comes from television. A great thing about this ad is that the content is very original. I have yet to see anything like this and it’s one of the reasons why I love it. Although I don’t see myself capable of watching it over and over again, I don’t think I could bear it. Then again, the first scene where the window breaks is truly hilarious.

The Sling TV commercial was quite confusing for an average, non-techy viewer like me. I did not have a clear idea of what Sling TV was all about until I went back and watched other reference videos. For some obscure reason, they used very fat kids to get their point across. I wound up sitting through a remotely clear, technical display of what Sling was all about. Even after that experience, I am still not clear on what Sling was hoping to accomplish.

Meet the Authors

The 18 year old

A rising student of film, Graham measures all advertising against his favorite movie scenes. So a commercial with a good car chase plays well. Better with an explosion. And funny. It should be funny. So a speeding car that explodes in an amusing way will sell product.

The 80 year old

Graduate of Amherst College and Harvard Business School, Tom doesn’t let his Ivy League education interfere with an appreciation for inane advertising campaigns. He more than appreciates a poodle in a business suit selling cleaning products. He also enjoys talking babies.
